These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Japan Car Imports website and related services (the “Site/Services”). The Site/Services are provided by JDM SHOP LTD ("we", "us", "our"). When you access or use the Site/Services, you enter into a contract with JDM SHOP LTD in the United Kingdom.
By using the Site/Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Site/Services.
For questions or complaints about the Site/Services, please contact us via the form at Contact Us. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two Working Days, investigate promptly and respond with outcomes or next steps. Where service issues are identified, we may: (i) remediate the issue; (ii) provide a fair proportionate refund of fees paid; or (iii) reduce or waive fees that would otherwise be payable.
In these Terms:
We are the seller of record for vehicles listed on the Site. Vehicles are located in Japan and details are provided based on available information. We do not host third‑party sellers.
You are responsible for your costs of using the Site. You agree not to misuse the Site, including by introducing malware, attempting unauthorised access, sending spam, or engaging in fraudulent or unlawful activity. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms or law are breached.
You must not collect, harvest, crawl, scrape, mine or otherwise extract data from the Site/Services (including by using bots, spiders or similar tools) without our prior written consent, nor frame or mirror the Site/Services. Any permitted access must be through publicly documented interfaces and for lawful purposes only.
You must be at least 18 to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep credentials confidential. We may use third‑party providers (including Stripe) to verify identity and process payments. If verification fails or payment methods cannot be authorised, we may restrict access to certain features.
Descriptions, photos and other details are provided to help you evaluate a vehicle. Given vehicles are in Japan, we recommend you review listings carefully and, where appropriate, request additional information before committing to purchase. Unless expressly stated, we do not provide independent mechanical inspections.
Prices shown are in GBP unless stated otherwise. We do not charge a buyer’s premium. Taxes, registration, compliance, shipping and related costs will be set out in your order documentation where applicable. You are responsible for any bank or payment charges from your provider.
When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase subject to these Terms. We will confirm acceptance in writing (for example, by email). We may use Stripe to authorise or capture payments in line with their terms. If a payment is declined, we may cancel the order.
Vehicles are shipped from Japan subject to export and import formalities. Estimated timelines are indicative and may vary due to logistics, customs or other factors outside our control. Title transfers on completion of payment as set out in your order; risk in the vehicle passes on delivery or collection, as specified in order documents.
As vehicles are supplied to your specification and involve international logistics, statutory cancellation rights may not apply or may be limited. This does not affect any non‑excludable rights under UK law. If you believe a vehicle is not as described, contact us promptly so we can review and propose a remedy where appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for: (i) losses not foreseeable by both parties; (ii) business losses; (iii) delays outside our reasonable control (including shipping or customs delays). Our total liability relating to a purchase will not exceed the price paid for the relevant vehicle.
The Site/Services and their content are protected by intellectual property rights. You may not copy, scrape, or redistribute content without permission. User‑submitted content must be lawful and you grant us a licence to use it to operate and promote the Site/Services.
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. For details on cookies and similar technologies, see our Cookie Policy.
We aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly. If you remain dissatisfied after contacting us, you may be able to escalate to alternative dispute resolution or to your local court. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office about our handling of personal data.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified where reasonably possible. Continued use of the Site/Services after an update indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms and any non‑contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident in the UK may bring claims in their local courts.
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights. If you believe a vehicle does not conform, contact us promptly so we can assess remedies that may include repair, replacement or refund in accordance with law.
We may request a deposit to secure an order. Any required deposit, the balance due date and accepted payment methods will be set out in your order confirmation. If a payment is late or fails, we may suspend processing, cancel the order, or re‑allocate the vehicle, and any deposit may be applied against our reasonable costs.
On delivery or collection, you should inspect the vehicle and notify us of any transit damage within a reasonable period (and, where practical, annotate the carrier’s delivery record). This helps us pursue carriers or insurers. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including strikes, lock‑outs, logistics disruption, port congestion, customs delays, embargoes, power or network outages, adverse weather, fire, flood or other natural events. We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and resume performance as soon as practicable.
