Classic car buyers
Sell your classic car — restored, original or project
Enter your reg and mileage and we’ll come back with a real offer. We buy Japanese, British, European and American classics, from concours cars to barn finds, and modern classics from the 1980s to the early 2000s. We value originality, history and condition — not the age-based figure a generic valuation site gives you.
- Projects and non-runners
- No auction fees
- Same-day payment
- No obligation to sell
Why sell your classic car to us?
A classic’s value lives in the details — originality, provenance and the quality of past work. We’re enthusiasts who deal in imported and collectable cars, so we look at those details instead of reading a number off a used-car price guide.
- Japanese classics are our home turf
- Early Z cars, Skylines, Celicas, rotaries and FJ Land Cruisers are hard for a general classic dealer to price. We know these cars, their model codes and their buyers, so we can pay properly for them.
- History and originality count
- Matching numbers, original paint, a thick history file or a documented restoration all go into our figure. Send us what you have and we’ll reflect it in the offer.
- Projects and unfinished restorations
- Ran out of time, space or budget? We buy cars mid-restoration, laid-up cars and non-runners, along with the boxes of parts that come with them.
- A certain sale, without auction fees
- No seller’s premium, no reserve that might not be met and no weeks of waiting. Agreed price, bank transfer on handover.
How selling your classic car works
Three steps from registration number to money in your account.
- 01
Tell us about your classic
Send your registration and mileage through the form, plus whatever history you have: restoration work, old MOTs, previous owners and any known issues. Photos on WhatsApp help us give a firmer figure.
- 02
Inspection and offer
For most classics we’ll want to see the car — we’ll arrange a visit or you can bring it to us. If it matches the description, the price doesn’t move.
- 03
Handover and same-day payment
Hand over the car in Wellingborough with its V5C and history file. Non-runner or not road legal? Say so in the notes and we’ll talk through transport. We pay by bank transfer on handover.
Selling a classic car: your questions answered
Not covered here? Ask us on WhatsApp and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What counts as a classic car?
There is no single legal definition. Most buyers and insurers treat a car as a classic from around 20 to 25 years old, and in the UK a car built more than 40 years ago can usually move into the historic vehicle tax class. We buy both: genuine period classics and modern classics from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s.
Which classic cars do you buy?
Japanese classics are our speciality — Datsun 240Z and 260Z, early Skylines, Celicas, RX-7s, Land Cruiser FJ40s and 60s, and 1990s icons such as the R32 GT-R, Supra and NSX. We also buy British classics like the MGB, Triumph TR6, Jaguar E-Type and XJS, Mini and Land Rover Series, Ford Escorts and RS models, European classics such as air-cooled Porsche 911s, Mercedes SLs and the BMW E30 M3, and classic American cars.
Do you buy project cars, barn finds and non-runners?
Yes. Unfinished restorations, cars that have been laid up for years and non-runners are all worth sending us. Give us an honest description and photos of the bodywork, floors and sills, and tell us what parts come with the car.
How do you value a classic car?
Condition matters most, then originality: matching numbers, original paint and interior, and correct period parts. Documented history adds real value — old MOT certificates, restoration invoices and photos, and previous owner records. We compare against recent UK sales and auction results for the same model, not a generic used-car price guide.
Should I sell my classic car to you or put it through an auction?
Auctions can work well for exceptional cars, but you pay seller fees, there is no guaranteed result and the sale can take weeks. Selling to us gives you a fixed price and same-day payment with no fees. If we think your car would do better elsewhere, we will tell you.
Does my classic car need a current MOT for you to buy it?
No. Many cars over 40 years old are exempt from the MOT, and we also buy cars that are SORN, off the road or waiting for work. It helps if you have any previous MOT certificates, as they support the mileage and history.
Will you buy a classic import that has never been registered in the UK?
Yes. We buy classic cars still on a foreign title, including Japanese and American imports waiting on NOVA or DVLA registration. Tick the box on the form and give us the make, model and year.
Can I keep my private or cherished number plate?
Yes. Apply to the DVLA to take the number off the car before the sale, or tell us about it in the notes and we will talk you through the timing. An original age-related or dateless plate that belongs to the car can add value, so mention that too.
Do you charge any fees, and how do I get paid?
There are no admin fees, valuation fees or deductions from the agreed price. We pay by bank transfer on handover — most sellers are paid the same day.
